Overview

At Dr. Sargar Heart Care and Diagnostics, we provide comprehensive surgical solutions for adult heart conditions, including coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and congenital or acquired structural defects. Under the expertise of Dr. Sayajirao Sargar, our approach combines clinical excellence with advanced surgical techniques to deliver optimal outcomes and faster recovery.

Bypass surgery is performed to restore normal blood flow to the heart muscle when the coronary arteries are blocked or narrowed.

A. On-Pump and Off-Pump Bypass Surgery

  • On-pump CABG involves temporarily stopping the heart and using a heart-lung machine to perform the surgery.

  • Off-pump CABG (Beating Heart Surgery) avoids the use of a heart-lung machine, reducing complications and promoting faster recovery in selected patients.

B. Total Arterial, Saphenous Vein (SVG), and Radial Artery Grafts
Dr. Sargar uses a tailored grafting strategy based on each patient’s condition:

  • Total arterial revascularization for long-lasting grafts

  • Radial artery and internal mammary artery for durable arterial supply

  • Saphenous vein grafts (SVG) where needed for multi-vessel disease

Valve repair is a preferred option wherever feasible, preserving the patient’s natural valve and function.

A. Mitral Valve Repair

  • For mitral regurgitation or prolapse

  • Techniques include leaflet resection, chordae replacement, and annuloplasty

B. Aortic Valve Repair

  • For aortic insufficiency or root abnormalities

  • Focused on valve preservation and stability

C. Tricuspid Valve Repair

  • Often combined with mitral procedures

  • Performed for tricuspid regurgitation or functional enlargement

When valve repair is not possible, valve replacement restores heart function using either mechanical or tissue prostheses.

A. Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR)
B. Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)
C. Double Valve Replacement (DVR)

  • Performed when both mitral and aortic valves are diseased

  • Prosthesis choice based on patient age, lifestyle, and medical profile

Accor

Some heart defects persist from birth into adulthood or may develop later due to disease or damage.

A. Congenital Defect Repairs:

  • ASD (Atrial Septal Defect)

  • VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect)

  • PAPVC (Partial Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection)

  • TOF (Tetralogy of Fallot) – adult correction of previously unoperated or palliated cases

B. Acquired Defects – Post-Myocardial Infarction VSR

  • Ventricular Septal Rupture (VSR) is a life-threatening complication post-heart attack

  • Requires urgent surgical closure with precision and hemodynamic support
